Carbon and titanium have revolutionized blade production for a new generation of players. It was only a matter of time before STIGA figured out how to extend its carbon fiber technology to their rubber sheets. After much research and development, STIGA has produced a mixture of carbon and rubber with fantastic results. Even though carbon is a very stiff material, STIGA has successfully maintained the elasticity of the rubber. This new combination offers a tremendous catapult effect coming from the sponge, as well as additional speed. The sound produced when striking the ball is quite loud, and all of this is due to the new carbon mixture in the sponge. The surface rubber has STIGA's Mega Tension properties and the sponge uses ACS technology.

carbo sound 2.2mm |
| installed on a stiga offensive classic 78grams soft flexy and stiga offensive nct 66 grams slightly stiffer but lighter than OC
control is terrific, has alot of headroom for error and the ball still goes in..
power is also excellent, the sound it makes is wonderful..
sponge is very durable as it doesnt tear when pulled hard when regluing
but the topsheet is the only weakness on the rubber..very brittle it rips off quite easily.. you can tear if off just by scratching hard using your nails..
verdict? its an excelllent rubber with a topsheet durability issue.. |

Fast and "spinny" enough |
| I like the Carbo Sound - for looping and blocking. It is not that soft, so it works best on af softer blade, like BBS less than 90. On a hard blade, the combination is too hard for me, less feel.
When you make a quick underarm move, it is very fast and spinny. |

Not as good as I wanted |
| Carbo Sound is fast, but it isnt consistent on spins. One shot it produced a lot a rotation, but the next shot feels like a super-fast anti-spin rubber. Stroking with Carbo Sound isnt consistent enough. |

I must be deaf |
| I think the speed and spin ratings on this rubber are quite accurate. However, I just don't hear the "sound" they are talking about. It plays and feels like other decent, fast, moderately spinny rubbers. You might want to keep looking for that ultimate fast, spinny rubber with a wonderful feel elsewhere. |

My favorite fast rubber |
| I have played with all the common fast rubbers (Bryce, Almana, Rapid etc.). I always come back to Carbo for solid speed, spin, and ball feel. |
