Hammond X sponge is 70% synthetic to maximize the spring effect. |

| Awesome rubber for loops and fast chops! Great rubber for a decent price. Love It!!! |

Consistency is the key |
| This rubber is very consistent with its control, speed, and most importantly its spin. It has good tackiness and bounce. The only problem I found was its durability is pretty low. The first day I got it, it began chipping without any abuse. |

Forehand Weapon |
| I love Hammond X on my forehand. Its speed is great, and it has a medium-low throw with good spin. Its great from any distance from the table. While messing around with it, I found that Hammond X has excellent chopping capabilities from long distance. This is a very good rubber, and its cheaper than a lot of new rubber these days. |

Decent Rubber |
| I bought this rubber 2.1 on both sides and it is very fast and very spinny. The spin is great, but the speed was excessive for my backhand and blocks. I would say this is a pretty good forehand rubber for close to the table players. |

--------ABSOLUTELY.......WOW-------- |
| Hammond Pro-Alpha was the best for speed-glue era. Now, Hammond X is the answer for glue-ban generations. |

Amazing!!! |
| This rubber is awesome. Heavy loopers will love the spin. I did. I compared it to Refoma, and the speed is great for my forehand. If you are an offensive player who doesnt need rubber to have a high control rating, then X is for you. |

Speed glue sound and feel without the speed! |
| Wow! This is the only rubber whose claim of a "speed glue" sound and feel (without actually speed gluing) is true. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the "speed glue" speed. I think a more appropriate speed rating for this rubber is 8.8. Playing with this rubber feels very strange since you get the feel and sound of speed gluing but not the the extra power you wanted. |
