Not durable. Did PP sell me a lemon?
3/6/2017

Both Black and Red rubber (same spec) started deteriorating very quickly. For some reason the Red one shows internal cracks (not on the side but right in the middle). The Black doesn't have such cracks. Not sure what the difference is: I use the sides indiscriminately. Also the Red one has basically lost any friction by now, the Black is better but not that great either. Given the reputation of the rubber, I do not know what to think. Did I get a couple of lemons, or rather a lemon and a stale lemon? Nothing else comes to mind.

Dont listen to Ron in FL...

This is the most durable and easy to maintain performance rubber Ive ever used. Impervious to humidity...I just wipe on my shirt and within 15 seconds its dry. Hardly ever have to clean it. Still shiny like new after 3 months of heavy use. Hit the edge of the table a few times and expected a tear, but when I looked it barely showed a mark at all--and that went away when I cleaned it. As for performance, this is a good all-around rubber that more-or-less gets its speed from the blade. A slow blade turns the HPB into a control rubber while a fast blade turns it into a speed rubber. Either way it has better than average grip so spinniness will depend on the technique of a players stroke.

Most durable rubber Ive tried
9/20/2010

Ive played T64, Bryce, Acuda S3, and a host of other rubbers on my backhand and all of them wear out faster than this sheet. 3 plus months and there is NO wear marks at all on the sweet spot and just a small wear mark from where my finger resets. This sheet is fast spinny and lasts forever... a solid investment!

Hammond pro beta review...tenergy killer?
8/12/2010

The answer is yes! This rubber has a very similar throw to tenergy yet when used with correct angles for blocks and punches, the trajectory flattens out a bit for a little more speed with no less control!!! Slow looping is a breeze!!!!!

THIS RUBBER IS YOUR OPPONENTS DREAM
7/20/2010

TESTED the THICK 1.9, WHICH IS USED FOR RATING IN PADDLE PALACE CATALOGUE. TRIED IT ON THE TIBHAR RAPID CARBON, DONIC OPTICON RS, NITTAKU SEPTEAR and NITTAKU RUNLOX-5. Very easy to play with, but what for? ILLUSIONARY SPEED & SPIN LISTED IN CATALOGUE. TOTALLY MISLEADING. NOT FAST ENOUGH AND NOT SPINNY ENOUGH. No matter how good a shot - OPPONENTS can always return it. FORGET THE DURABILITY! VERY EASILY DAMAGED, EVEN ON FIRST TRY. NOT CHIP TYPE, BUT LARGE CUT-LIKE TARE OF TOP LAYER. PERMANENTLY WRINKLES WHEN YOU REGLUE THE CUT.

great backhand rubber
5/14/2010

at first i thought this was the wost buy i made. when i first put this rubber on my blade and was bouncing the ball on it to test its feeling. it did not feel as good as the bryce speed i always used but when you play in a real game this rubber is the best i ve tried so far and i ve tested many rubbers already you name iti was able to knock over chops, counter hit, and block very well. this is my new backhand rubber!

Step aside old brother, Hammond X...
3/21/2010

Woo Hoo! If you loved the Hammond X version, you will love this Pro Beta version even more... Has a little more speed and maybe a little bit more spin but it sure offers a same control factor like your eX one.

this is it rubber
