Denver Northside Table Tennis Open

The Denver Northside Table Tennis Club formed in late 2017 has been developing a solid group of players of all levels. Our goal is to help generate interest in the great sport of table tennis here in the Denver and the surrounding areas. We have been very fortunate to obtain a large space for the club at Moore Middle School which allows us the opportunity to have larger table tennis events. This is our second tournament held on February 17^th, and it was a great success. We had 48 players participate in 3 divisions (U1300 – U1750 – OPEN), many that were new to our tournament as well as several first-time tournament participants. With our available tournament space, we had a large group of spectators to support the players. It was great to see players of all levels and spectators sharing the event. All players had plenty of playing time. The winner of the OPEN was a young player (16 years old) Andres Henriques visiting here from Panama for a brief time to attend school and to continue his table tennis training. He finished the RR with a 6-1 record and went on to win the OPEN DIVISION in the 5^th. The winner of the U1750 was Antonio Vazques. This was a great come back for Antonio after suffering a severe work-related knee injury that required surgery and 8 months of rehab. 2^nd place went to Bobby Green and 3^rd place went to Spencer Friedman. The winner of the U1300 was Igor Tsalyuk. 2^nd place went to Chris Oltyan and 3^rd place went to Karthik Ramadas. This was the 1^st time at the club for all 3 of these players and the 1^st tournament for Karthik Ramadas. Special thanks to Ricard Mcafee for helping to ensure everything went smoothly.
