Most players choose 2.1mm, but some players choose 1.9mm if they want their paddle to be lighter or have more control.

Yes, expensive. But it plays very well. I play it on my forehand (Timo Boll ALC) and find looping and fast blocking awesome with this rubber. I play Tenergy 05 backhand and like the quickness. You can feel the dwell time on the Dignics.
