The new and expanded control box resembles your end of the table. The eleven buttons let you control exactly where the ball is going to land. The #1 button indicates the farthest left side of the table, and the #11 button the farthest right side. Push the #1 button one time and you will be practicing your far-side backhand as long as you want. If you want the robot to oscillate from the far left to the far right of the table then you push the #1 button once and push the #11 button once and now you are going back and forth for as long as you want. If you just want to oscillate on the forehand side of the table, then you press the #7 button once and the #11 button once and you can practice that forehand combination for hours.
Now let’s have some fun. Let’s say you want to have two balls go to forehand and 3 balls to the backhand then one ball to the middle. Clear your previous programming then press the #11 button two times then the #1 button three times and finally the #6 button once and you have created a routine tailored to your needs which you can practice over and over for as long as you want. The robot will remember up to 50 landing spots in a sequence.
Conveniently, your routine will be remembered by the robot until you clear the board in order to create a new routine. So when you turn the robot off (some of us need to rest or go to work now and then), your sequence will be remembered the next time you use the robot.
Another awesome feature for the E-2 Pro and F-1 Pro is the Random Long/Short Feature. A single push of the Random Long/Short Button on the new control box, and the robot will randomly land the balls slightly shorter or longer on the table in the sequence that you have programmed. This certainly keeps you on your toes, and is a challenging way to practice the surprises you will encounter in game situations.
Perhaps you don’t want your arm to fall off from fatigue; well the new control box for E-2 Pro and F-1 Pro has a Ball Counter, allowing you to set the number of balls you want to hit, any number up to 999. So you can practice your set routine for exactly the number of balls you set on the Ball Counter, whether it is one ball to the same spot 999 times, or, for example, 250 balls when doing a five-ball attack sequence 50 times.
Of course the E-2 Pro can do everything its older brother the Paddle Palace Deluxe could, but with the addition of the new programmable sequencing control box. Like the Deluxe, the E-2 Pro comes with two throw wheels, each having its own independently controlled motor, making it possible for the spin setting to be separate from the speed setting. By varying the speed of the top wheel in relation to the speed of the bottom wheel, you can set a great range of spins on the ball: from light to heavy topspin, light to heavy underspin, and light to heavy sidespin. And you can also set it for no-spin balls.
The difference between the E-2 Pro Robot and the F-1 Pro Robot is the number of throw wheels. The E-2 Pro has two. The F-1 Pro has one. The Paddle Palace Deluxe Robot has two throw wheels without the Programmable Sequencing.
